None of these recipes are entirely my own! I've made some tweaks, but the vast majority of them come from somewhere else. Please check out the original creators!

Aeropress
Aeropresso
From The New Art of Coffee by Ryan Castelaz, founder of Discourse Coffee here in Milwaukee. Good book, lots of ridiculously bougie and delicious drinks in here.
Grind: Very fine
Coffee: 20g
Water: 50g, 205 F (96 C)
Time: 45 sec
- Invert the Aeropress (plunger in, then flip it over, cap off)
- Add coffee, pour water evenly over grounds
- Start timer, stir for 15 sec
- Attach cap with filter and place over preheated mug
- Press down with force, aiming for total brew time of about 45 sec
Notes: Rinsing the filter makes putting the cap on easier. Preheating the mug makes a huge difference!
Aeropress Long Espresso
by Fernando Conde-Pumpido Velasco on Aeropresso. My personal favorite Aeropress recipe for a milk drink. I've bumped the ratio down to 1:4.
Grind: Medium-fine
Coffee: 15g
Water: 60g, 205 F
Time: 2 min
- Add 15g coffee and pour 60g water, stir 5 times vigorously
- At 1 min: Stir again 3 times
- At 1:30: Add lid, invert onto mug, start pressing. Aim for press time of 30 sec
Tim Wendelboe Signature Aeropress
by Tim Wendelboe, founder of the World Aeropress Championships (yes, that's a thing!) and his own cafe, aptly named Tim Wendelboe. My favorite for a good "regular" cup of coffee.
Grind: Medium
Coffee: 14g
Water: 200g, 205 F
Time: 1 min 45 sec
- Add 14g coffee, pour 200g water quickly and evenly into Aeropress
- Stir exactly 3 times
- Insert plunger and pull up slightly to create a vacuum seal
- At 1:00, remove plunger and stir 3 times again
- If inverted, flip onto mug. Press for 45 sec
Notes: I tend to brew this inverted, skipping the whole vacuum plunger part.
Alan Adler's Cold Brew
From the creator himself! In addition to the Aeropress, he created the Aerobie flying disk, which has set several records for long-distance human-thrown objects, and a ton of other things. As a mechanical engineer, he's kind of an idol of mine.
Grind: Fine
Coffee: 15g
Water: 70g, room temp (about 68 F)
Time: 2 min
- Add 15g coffee and 70g room temp water to Aeropress
- Stir for 60 sec
- If inverted, flip into mug. Press gently for 60 sec
- Add water or ice to taste
Notes: Again, I mostly brew this inverted. The whole "brew at room temp, but with a lot of agitation" mechanism is really interesting, I gotta experiment with it.
